Youtube Good or Bad?

I spent some time on the effects of facebook and how these social networking sites are working their way down to young children.  Now I will spend a brief time on Youtube.  I understand that there is a lot of money to be made on this site and that there are also ways to get the notoriety or publicity to make it to a certain point in ones career.  However, what about the downfalls of it.  Floyd Mayweather was recently caught on tape while he was talking to a friend and making racist remarks about Manny Pacquiao.  Of course this may be the typical star athlete constantly running his mouth and trying to have some so called "fun", but this may have landed him in much more trouble.
Mayweather was also arrested recently on 8 charges while four of them were felonies.  I happen to believe that he is holding out on a boxing match with Manny so he can stir the pot as much as possible, which in turn will generate millions in revenue when they actually fight.  Now that he has been arrested on theft, domestic violence, and assalt and battery, I dont think any judge will find any way to believe that Mayweather has great if any character at all.  Not only does he have many charges pressed against him, he has proven evidence that he really doesnt have any respect for anyone in any way shape or form.  He may not have planned on getting in trouble, but do you honestly believe there is any way to prove his innocence or even explain that it was bad judgement and out of character?  To me there is not a chance.  I guess maybe youtube doesnt have many downfalls after all.  Maybe its good to find the hidden truth in people.  What do you think? Racial Remarks Floyd Mayweather

  1. Andrew, I think the point you made regarding knowing a person's true self over Youtube might be valid. At the same time, there are many people who can even fake their identity and yet get away with it most of the time. We all know how powerful Youtube is to communicate with the whole world. It is one of the windows through which people look at various things ranging from technology, politics to sports, etc.

In Floyd Mayweather's case, though not an intentional plan to show the world his disrespect towards someone, it shows how insensitive he was towards the society and his stand in it. He could have easily imagined the consequences of such comments, yet never bothered about it. I don't think there is any way one would want to support his remarks, except for his attorney as he is being paid a huge sum to bury the truth. Who can believe his apologies when he said "it was a joke" and what he said was wrong. He lost all his credibility. yeah right, say the worst and laugh it off as a joke. He learnt a lesson, in a hard way though.
